FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is Legacy Hydroponics?

A: Legacy Hydroponics, LLC is a hydroponic farm based in Waterford, PA. We specialize in growing fresh, high-quality produce that is harvested daily. Our hydroponic methods ensure sustainable growth and nutrient-rich produce that reaches our customers at peak freshness. We serve our community through farm stands and various local partnerships.

Q: How is hydroponic farming different from traditional farming?

A: Hydroponic farming uses a soilless method where plants grow in nutrient-rich water. This method allows us to control the growing environment closely, leading to faster growth and higher-quality produce. Hydroponics also uses less water than traditional farming, making it an eco-friendly choice.

Q: Where can I buy produce from Legacy Hydroponics?

A: We sell our produce online, and also set up weekly fresh food markets in the lobbies of apartment buildings, especially focusing on serving seniors and individuals with disabilities. We are committed to making fresh food easily accessible in our community.

Q: What types of produce does Legacy Hydroponics offer?

A: Our selection varies seasonally but typically includes green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries. We also partner with other farms like ours to provide an even broader range of produce to our customers.

Q: How does Legacy Hydroponics support the local community?

A: We are dedicated to supporting our local community in several ways. We partner with other farms and the Amish community to provide a wide variety of fresh produce. Additionally, we bring fresh food markets directly to select apartment lobbies each week, making it easier for seniors and individuals with disabilities to access fresh fruits and vegetables.

Q: Is Legacy Hydroponics’ produce organic?

A: While we prioritize growing methods that are natural and sustainable, we no longer focus on the organic label. Instead, we emphasize the quality and freshness of our produce, ensuring it’s nutrient-rich and harvested daily.

Q: Can I have Legacy Hydroponics produce delivered?

A: Yes, we have delivery available for a small fee.  Our in-person focus is on serving our community through weekly apartment markets. We do encourage everyone to visit our online store to purchase fresh produce on a weekly basis.

Q: What makes Legacy Hydroponics’ produce fresher than grocery store produce?

A: Our produce is harvested daily and brought directly apartment markets, or delivered, often within hours of being picked. In contrast, grocery store produce may spend days or even weeks in transit and storage, losing freshness over time.

Q: How can I support Legacy Hydroponics?

A: You can support us by visiting our store online, sharing your experiences with friends and family, and attending our weekly fresh food markets in your local apartment lobbies. Follow us on social media to stay updated on our latest offerings and community initiatives.

Q: Does Legacy Hydroponics offer any special programs for local organizations?

A: Yes! We partner with local organizations and support initiatives to bring fresh food to seniors and individuals with disabilities. We also welcome inquiries from community groups interested in collaborating to increase access to fresh, nutritious food.
